Duo charged with murder of 60-y-o inmate after prison fight
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Two inmates at a local adult correctional facility have been charged with murder following an incident at Tower Street, Kingston CSO on June 18.
Charged are 22-year-old Carlton Thompson and 46-year-old Paul Williams for the murder of 60-year-old David Johnson, a fellow inmate.
Reports indicate that about 9:00 pm, Thompson and Williams got into an altercation with Johnson. During the altercation, it is reported that Johnson was attacked and assaulted by the duo.
On Friday, June 19, Johnson, who received multiple injuries, was assisted to the hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment. Following a postmortem, Johnson was revealed to have died due to multiple instances of blunt force trauma.
Subsequent investigations led to Thompson and Williams being charged.
A court date for them is being finalised.
