Final count for Greater Portmore North By-election completed
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Electoral Commission of Jamaica (EOJ) announced this morning that the final count for the Greater Portmore North by-election, which took place on March 27, concluded yesterday.
The EOJ said that of the 3,136 ballots cast, the People’s National Party (PNP) candidate Gary Nicholson polled 2,101 votes while the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate Ann Marie Lewis received 979 votes. There were 56 rejected ballots.
The preliminary results by the EOJ on March 27 showed that Nicholson received 2,105 votes, while candidate for Lewis polled 993 votes.
The electors eligible to vote in the by-election numbered 10,677.
