Fire destroys old Custom Brokers Building downtown Kingston
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Fire this morning destroyed the former headquarters of the Customs Brokers Association of Jamaica at 164 Port Royal Street in downtown Kingston.
Though thought to have been abandoned, the building has for years been occupied by several furniture makers and upholsterers, who ply their wares on the sidewalk in front of the building.
Several pieces of equipment, furniture and personal effects were completely razed in the fire.
Three units from the York Park fire station contained the blaze. No one was injured.
