LASCO resumes corned beef sales tomorrow
KINGSTON, Jamaica — LASCO Distributors a short while ago disclosed that it will resume selling its corned beef on Wednesday in light of the Government lifting its ban on imports of the product from Brazil.
LASCO also commend the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries for its “due diligence in protecting the health and safety of Jamaica’s citizens and the speed in which the investigation was completed”.
Portfolio Minister Karl Samuda this morning announced at a press conference that the ban on local sales of corned beef imported from Brazil has been lifted with immediate effect.
This follows the positive findings presented in a report from the Jamaican delegation, which travelled to Brazil to meet with Brazilian authorities and inspected beef supplier operations.
