KINGSTON, Jamaica - An arrest has been made in the murder of a taxi driver in St Elizabeth on the weekend.

The arrested man was taken into custody yesterday, a police source reported.

Forty-eight year-old Wilbert Gayle was found with multiple stab wounds, hands and feet tied and gagged in Haughton in the parish early Saturday.

Gayle was reported missing by his wife late Friday when he didn’t return home, the police report.

His silver Toyota motor car was reportedly spotted by police being driven in the Goshen area of St Elizabeth, but the driver is said to have eluded the police.
