Manchester residents lauded for interest in jury duty
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — High Court Judge Evan Brown yesterday lauded residents who turned out at the Manchester Circuit Court for jury duty.
Speaking to potential jurors about to be dismissed from the court room, after the number of persons needed for a trial was selected, he said he noticed that the citizens in the parish take jury duty “seriously”.
He said that they come forward when they are called to serve and are “longsuffering and forbearing”.
Brown emphasised that there can be “no giving and getting of justice” without their active participation.
He urged them to encourage their neighbours to take a similar approach to assisting the court.
The Circuit Court started in Manchester in January and is scheduled to continue until early March.
