Men accused of killing St Elizabeth car dealer remanded
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — The three men accused of murdering St Elizabeth used-car dealer Michael Rochester were remanded when they appeared in the Mandeville Resident Magistrate’s Court Wednesday (April 3).
John Ross Fray, Michael Morgan and Somonas Gayle, all of St Catherine addresses, are charged with murder and illegal possession of firearm.
In August of last year the three men reportedly responded to an advertisement placed by Rochester regarding the sale of a motorcar.
Rochester met the men at Gutters on the St Elizabeth Manchester border to negotiate the sale.
With two of the men aboard his vehicle Rochester reportedly headed in the direction of Spur Tree Hill.
On reaching a section of the roadway explosions were heard and a body was seen being pushed from Rochester’s motorcar.
Another car was observed speeding away from the scene.
The police found Rochester, who had been shot, lying in the roadway. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The men are to return to court on May 6.
