Men flee cops leaving 250 pounds of ganja behind
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — The police say they seized 250 pounds of compressed marijuana in Pedro Plains, St Elizabeth, on Saturday.
Reports from the Pedro Plains police are that about 12:45 am, lawmen were in the area when they saw a group of men loading parcels onto a vessel.
However, on seeing the police officers the men reportedly ran, leaving the parcels behind.
The police say when the parcels were inspected, five knitted bags of compressed ganja weighing 250 pounds were found.
The police say the ganja has as estimated street value of J$1.5 million.
No one was arrested, but the police say investigations are ongoing.
