PNP condemns death threats against Lisa Hanna
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Opposition, People’s National Party (PNP) has condemned death threats that have been made against its spokesperson on youth and culture, Lisa Hanna.
The party, in a statement this morning, said that while it respects the rights of people to disagree with the views expressed by others, it is unacceptable for citizens to resort to threats.
The police yesterday launched investigations into vicious death threats made on social media against the parliamentarian after she called for recordings of incarcerated dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel and other murder convicts to be banned from the airwaves.
The PNP said that it is pleased that the police is treating the matter seriously and expects that it will be investigated speedily.
