PNP retains Salt Spring Division after magisterial recount

KINGSTON, Jamaica — People’s National Party (PNP) candidate for the Salt Spring Division in St James, Sylvan Reid, has retained the seat by a margin of two votes.

According to a news release by the Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ), the magisterial recount that was completed today saw Reid amassing 1,049 votes while the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate Gregory Harris received 1,047.
