PNP retains seat after Magisterial Recount in Ginger Ridge Division

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The People’s National Party (PNP) candidate for the Ginger Ridge Division, Ralston Wilson, has retained his hold on the seat after the now completed magisterial recount.

The magisterial recount for the St Catherine West Central division was completed today.

According to a news release from the Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ), Wilson received 1,019 votes while the Jamaica Labour Party’s Huit Johnson received 1,001. This brings the margin of votes to 18, up from the previous 16 votes determined by the EOJ.
