PNP takes parish tours to St Mary
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The ruling People’s National Party (PNP) says it will continue its series of multi- parish meetings this Sunday, in Annotto Bay, St Mary.
With a general election looming and with both parties locked in a statistical dead heat amidst harsh economic conditions, prime minister and party leader Portia Simpson Miller is expected to address party supporters at the meeting.
Several polls conducted recently have indicated that Simpson Miller and the Opposition Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) leader Andrew Holness have lost significant amount of favourability with the electorate.
A media release from the PNP said Simpson Miller is expected to headline a roster of speakers which includes members of parliament, caretaker candidates, regional chairmen, PNPYO, and other party officials from the region.
The meeting is expected to begin at 5:00 pm.
The party began it multi-parish tour in Petersfield, Westmoreland last Sunday.
