PNPYO president stands by views that Portia should have resigned
KINGSTON, Jamaica – President of the People’s National Party Youth Organisation (PNPYO) Andrae Blair said the views expressed in today’s Jamaica Observer article ‘Portia should have resigned, says PNPYO’ are his own and not that of the party’s youth arm.Read: Portia should have resigned, says PNPYO
“There are views attributed to me which in essence outlines my principled position that the party leader and the general secretary should have offered their resignation in the wake of the party’s defeat at the February 25 polls,” Blair said in a statement.
He added that the quotations attributed to him in the article are accurate and that he stands by them.
“However, the views expressed are not representative of the majority view of the organisation I lead, and to that extent I take it as my responsibility to clarify that the views expressed are those of Andrae Blair and not the views of the PNPYO,” Blair said.
