Paulwell endorses Colin Campbell for South St Andrew seat

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Chairman of the People’s National Party’s powerful Region 3 Phillip Paulwell today endorsed former Cabinet minister and former Jamaica Urban Transit Company managing director Colin Campbell for chairman of the South St Andrew constituency.

The chairmanship of the constituency is expected to become vacant when Member of Parliament Dr Omar Davies leaves office in August.

Campbell is expected to square off against former justice minister Mark Golding, who has also made public his interest in representing the garrison constituency.

“I am here to vouch for my friend Colin Campbell. Colin taught me about representational politics. I have found him to be trustworthy; to be a good Comrade of the party, but has taken many licks for the party. He is a loyal and faithful Comrade to the end,” Paulwell said.

The Region 3 chairman said he was at the launch of Campbell’s campaign as a friend and not the chairman.

“If I were a delegate, I know who I would vote for. I would vote for Colin Campbell,” Paulwell said.
