Services at CRH return to normal tomorrow
ST JAMES, Jamaica (JIS) – Ventilation issues which resulted in the suspension of clinics and outpatient services at the Cornwall Regional Hospital, in Montego Bay, on Tuesday, have been contained.
Consequently, services in accident & emergency, medical records and clinics will return to normal on Thursday, September 30.
However, the blood donation unit is being relocated temporarily to the Infection Control Centre on the grounds of the hospital.
According to representatives of the hospital, the ventilation problem affected the first, second and third floors of the facility, resulting in only emergency cases being seen in the Accident and Emergency Department.
“The board of directors and management have been monitoring the situation and a decision has been taken to bring in outside expertise to seek out the source of the ventilation problem and deal with it effectively,” the hospital representative said.
