Seven students injured in Manchester crash
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — The Manchester police say that seven students of the Bellefield High School were today involved in a two-vehicle collision at about midday.
Police reports are that the taxi in which they were travelling collided with a pick-up truck on the Winston Jones Highway in Manchester.
The taxi was reportedly overtaking and ended up on the right side of the road where it collided with the pick-up, which was travelling in the opposite direction.
The police say the seven students from the taxi and the drivers of both motor vehicles received injuries and are being treated in hospital.
The severity of the injuries is still unclear at this time.
Police say both vehicles were “extensively” damaged.
