Smooth start to St Elizabeth NE ratification process
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — Scores of People’s National Party (PNP) delegates are steadily streaming into the Santa Cruz Primary School to ratify Evon Redman’s candidacy as the party’s standard-bearer for St Elizabeth North Eastern in upcoming parliamentary elections.
The ratification process, which began at 10:00 am, has been incident free so far with delegates adhering to procedures by presenting identification cards upon entering the premises.
Delegates will be asked to answer “yes” or “no” to whether they want Redman as their representative. More than 900 delegates are eligible to vote.
Redman, who formally applied to challenge Member of Parliament Raymond Pryce in April for the right to be the PNP representative in St Elizabeth NE, was left as the only applicant when Pryce withdrew from the contest last week.
