St Andrew woman charged for harbouring a fugitive
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A woman was arrested and charged for habouring a fugitive on Friday by detectives attached to the Fraud Squad of the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Branch (C-TOC).
In custody is 52-year-old Paulette Josephs of Plantation Heights, St Andrew.
Reports are that lawmen went to the premises to execute a warrant on Norman Espeut who is wanted for questioning in relation to several fraud reports made against him as well as for absconding bail in several counts of obtaining money by false pretences.
It is alleged that on the approach of the police, Espeut ran from the house and escaped.
Josephs who was found at the premises was subsequently arrested. However, she was bailed with a surety of J$200,000 and is scheduled to appear before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Friday, August 28.
An appeal is being made for Norman Espeut to turn himself in to detectives at the Fraud Squad, located at 34 Duke Street, Kingston by 9:00 am, on Monday, August 25.
