St Catherine main road to close tomorrow
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – The National Works Agency (NWA) has advised motorists and pedestrians that the Bodles main road in St Catherine, in the vicinity of the railroad lines, will be closed between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm on Wednesday.
A release from the NWA Tuesday said the temporary closure of the roadway is to facilitate the replacement of a burnt-out culvert.
A detour road has already been constructed, adjacent to the burnt-out culvert, to allow for the movement of traffic and pedestrians during the road’s closure.
NWA said following the replacement of the culvert, the roadway will be reduced to single lane use intermittently, between Thursday, August 13 and Wednesday, August 19.
“This is to enable continued road repair works in the area of the replaced culvert,” the release said.
The NWA has also advised motorists and pedestrians using the Bodles main road to proceed with caution and obey posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons.
