St Elizabeth lottery scammer gets 5 years
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Thirty-two-year-old Kurt Taylor, phone technician of Jerusalem Housing Scheme in Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth was sentenced to five years hard labour for knowingly possessing identity information, when he appeared before the St Elizabeth Circuit Court today, Friday, December 5.
Taylor, on Wednesday December 3, was found guilty of breaching the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) Special Provisions Act 2013.
The St Elizabeth Proactive Investigations Unit (PIU) and other police personnel arrested Taylor in November 2013 after he was held with lottery-scamming paraphernalia.
