Three to face court in killing of policeman
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Three men will next week appear in the Half-Way-Tree Resident Magistrate’s Court to answer charges stemming from the shooting death of Detective Corporal Alphanso Gossop.
Thirty-nine-year-old Raymond Gowie, of Spanish Town Road, Kingston 11, Horace Kildare, 19, of Stony Hill, St Andrew and Steven Ricardo Archer-Henry, an accountant of Monza in Greater Portmore, St Catherine have been charged with murder, conspiracy to murder, robbery with aggravation and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The men, who were arrested on Monday, July 1, were charged following a question and answer session with their attorneys. A fourth person, who was also arrested at the time, was released.
Gossop, who was attached to the Protective Services Division, was gunned down off Red Hills Road, St. Andrew about 4:00 pm on Monday, July 1.
The accused men were apprehended shortly after in the Half-Way-Tree area.
