Trinidadian woman sentenced to prison for smuggling cocaine
KINGSTON, Jamaica (CMC) — A Trinidadian woman was on Wednesday sentenced to 18 months in prison after she was caught trying to smuggle cocaine out of the country two weeks ago.
The police report that Daniella St George was preparing to board a flight at the Norman Manley International Airport when she was stopped, searched and four pounds of cocaine found in her possession.
When she appeared in the Corporate Area Criminal Court on Wednesday, she pleaded guilty.
She was also fined J$600,000 and will serve additional time if the fine is not paid.
