Two Christmas Eve traffic deaths
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – The police this morning reported that two people died on Christmas Eve as a result of separate motor vehicle collisions.
According to the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), 38-year-old Nesbeth Fowler of Somerhill, St James succumbed to injuries he received when he was hit by a motor vehicle along Struie Road, Bethel Town in Westmoreland on Thursday.
Reports are that about 9:15 pm Fowler was attempting to cross the roadway when a Toyota Hiace mini bus hit him. He was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The second victim, 45-year-old Donovan Thompson of Benin Road, Browns Town, St Ann died from injuries he received in a motor vehicle collision on the Pear Tree main road in the parish earlier that day.
Reports from the Runaway Bay Police are that about 10:48 am, Thompson was driving his Toyota Wish motor vehicle when he collided with a motor truck. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
