Two Jamaican athletes charged with WADA whereabouts violation
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A senior and we’ll decorated female athlete is fighting a whereabouts violation, failing to make herself available for drug testing, in keeping with the rules of the World Anti-doping Agency, OBSERVER ONLINE has learnt.
The athlete, who has represented the island with distinction at every senior level, is one of two Jamaican athletes who have been charged, male quarter-miler Ryker Hylton being the other.
Hylton has acknowledged that he was charged and is also denying culpability.
Jamaican and West Indies cricketer Andre Russell was recently banned for one year by the Jamaica Anti-doping Commission (JADCo) Disciplinary Committee after he was found guilty of missing three tests over a 12 months period.
