Two juveniles from Metcalfe Street Centre at large
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Three male juveniles escaped from the Metcalfe Street Secure Juvenile Centre in Kingston this morning, Commissioner of Corrections, Lieutenant Colonel Sean Prendergast confirmed today.
“As you can imagine we are at an early stage of the investigation. What I can confirm is that this morning at approximately 4:00am we have three juvenile males that managed to abscond from the Metcalfe Street Secure Juvenile Centre,” Prendergast said.
Since then, one juvenile was returned to the facility by relatives, Prendergast said. He added that the returned juvenile has been questioned about how the three managed to get away but said investigations are still ongoing.
Meanwhile, the Department of Corrections is seeking the public’s help in locating the other two males, one of whom is wanted for suspicion of murder.
Twain Rhoden, 17, was remanded to face an identification parade for suspicion of murder and shooting with intent. Rhoden is from he is from Delamere Avenue in Kingston 13.
Ashani Green, also called Ashani Harris, was remanded after being charged with illegal possession of firearm. His address is listed as Newport and Providence, both in Manchester.
