Two murdered in Westmoreland
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — The police are reporting that two men were murdered in separate incidents in Westmoreland today.
In the first incident, 26-year-old Oneik Finnikin of Argyle Mountain, Westmoreland was shot dead by unknown assailants in his community.
Reports are that residents who reportedly heard gunshots summoned police to the area about 10:50 am.
Finnikin was found with gunshot wounds and was eventually pronounced dead at hospital.
Meanwhile, 34-year-old Michael Bailey of Elgin Town, Hanover was gunned down at the Negril Transportation Centre in the afternoon.
Reports from the police are that Bailey was at the centre about 1:45 pm when two men pounced upon him and opened fire before escaping on foot.
The police were summoned and discovered him with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigations are ongoing.
