Pitfour, Granville road repaired
The roughly 4,000 residents of Pitfour and Granville in St James are set to benefit from a $1.5-M rehabilitation of Granville Drive, one of the major thoroughfares leading to their communities.
Work began on April 26 and is slated to be completed within the next two weeks.
“The road was built in 1972. It’s been in disrepair for the past six to seven years, and this is the first time it has been repaired on a major basis,” said councillor for the area, Michael Troupe.
Under the ongoing project, the old pothole-riddled road surface was graded, marled and will soon be tarred and gravelled. The National Water Commission pipes along the roadway have also been replaced, and curbs and channels have been installed to ensure proper drainage.
