Shoemaker’s body found in Westmoreland
The Westmoreland police are investigating the death of 35 year-old shoemaker, Horace Hibbert, whose decomposing body was found, by area residents, in bushes earlier this week.
Reports are that Hibbert, who lived at Segree Street in Savanna-la-Mar, was last seen on September 10, when he left home and set out for his farm in Cairn Curran. His body was found six days later, at about 11:00 am, with a number of chop wounds to the skull, feet and hands.
According to investigation officer, Detective Corporal Grant, of the Withorn Police Station, no motive has yet been established for the killing.
Hibbert’s body was removed to Doyley’s Funeral Home and a post-mortem will be performed at a later date.
