Two motorcyclists collide, die
TWO motorcyclists — Clive Williams, 30, of Farm and Saladine Daley, 27, of Belmont District, both in Westmoreland, died Thursday morning following a collision on the Farm main road.
The police reported that Williams, who was riding a Honda motorcycle and Daley, a CBR, were travelling towards Whitehouse in the parish. Williams reportedly made a right turn and collided with Daley who was travelling behind him.
Williams, the police said, died on the spot, while Daley died later at the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital.
Residents of Farm later blocked a section of the roadway, claiming that the accident was caused by a stray cow.
Minibus kills accountant
THE police also reported Thursday that Edwin Townsend, 42, an accountant of Discovery Bay in St Ann, was killed by a minibus Wednesday night.
According to the police, at about 9:30, Townsend was walking along the Discovery Bay main road when he was hit by a minibus travelling towards St Ann’s Bay. The vehicle did not stop.
Townsend, who sustained head injuries, was taken to the St Ann’s Bay Hospital where he died.
