TPDCo hosts beautification fair in Ocho Rios
OCHO RIOS, St Ann — The Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo) will be hosting a beautification fair in Ocho Rios, St Ann tomorrow, as part of the efforts to engage the community in the beautification of the town.
Karl Binger, the TPDCo’s executive director, said the fair will feature exhibits from 15 local businesses comprising hardware suppliers, landscaping, environmental and solid waste agencies.
Companies slated to showcase their wares are Ocho Rios Glass and Hardware Limited, Recycle for Life, Cranbrook Flower Forest, The Paint Shop, Friends of the Sea, St Ann Environmental and Protection Agency, National Development Foundation of Jamaica, Berger Paints, Boswell Steel and Lumber Limited and Computer Control Plus.
Three honoured for contribution to tourism
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Three residents of St James were recently honoured for their contribution to tourism in Jamaica by the Montego Bay Prayer Breakfast Group.
They are hotelier, Godfrey Dyer; businesswoman, Hazel Dalley, and craft manufacturer/vendor Evelyn Dormand.
The group also honoured the Jamaica Union of Travellers Association (JUTA), for its contribution to the tourism sector..
Plaques and citations were presented to the recipients at the Group’s 15th Annual Prayer Breakfast, held at Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort in Montego Bay.
The citation noted that the awardees were honoured for over 30 years of “invaluable contributions which has fostered the overall growth and development of tourism in the country as well as at the international level”.
