Woman dies from gunshot wounds

ANTONNETTE Lawrence, 23, of Brown’s Town, St Ann died in the St Ann’s Bay Hospital Tuesday, after being shot by hold-up men in the aftermath of a robbery in White River, St Ann on Monday.

The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) reported that at about 11:00 pm on Monday, Lawrence was sitting with a male companion in a Toyota Corolla motor car when they were attacked by two armed men. The men reportedly robbed the man of items of jewelry and cash totalling $15,000. They then drove off in the man’s motor car taking Lawrence with them.

About 6:00 am Tuesday Lawrence was found by a passer-by on the roadway at Grier Park in Claremont suffering from gunshot wounds to the head. She was taken to hospital where she was admitted. She died from her injuries about 3:20 pm.

Man shot dead in New Haven

A 20 year-old man was shot dead by gunmen on Alamanda Terrace, New Haven, Kingston 20 Tuesday.

He has been identified as Germain Fisher of Alamanda Terrace.

The CCN’s metro officer reported that at about 5:00 pm, Fisher was riding a bicycle along Alamanda Terrace when a white minibus drove up. The occupants of the bus reportedly opened fire hitting Fisher in the head. He died on the spot.

No motive for the killing has yet been established by the Duhaney Park Police who are investigating.

Man fatally shot by licensed firearm holder

A man who reportedly attacked a licensed firearm holder with a machete was fatally shot at Spring Bank, Port Antonio, Portland Tuesday.

The dead man is unidentified.

The CCN said that at about 12:30 pm, a farmer went to his farm at Spring Bank where he reportedly saw a man stealing produce. The man was accosted and he reportedly attacked the farmer with a machete. The farmer pulled his licensed firearm and opened fire hitting his alleged attacker. He was taken to the Port Antonio Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Man killed, woman injured in motor vehicle accident

A man was killed and a woman injured in a motor vehicle accident on the Race Course main road in St Mary Tuesday.

He is Derrick McCrae of Race Course while injured is Cinderella Anglin of Oxford Free Hill both in the parish.

The CCN said that about 4:00 pm, a Toyota Camry motor car driven by Clyde Pinnock of Mamee Bay, St Ann was travelling along the Race Course main road heading towards Ocho Rios when he was involved in a collision with an Isuzu truck travelling in the opposite direction. The truck then hit McCrae and Anglin who were walking along the roadway before crashing into a wall. The two injured persons were taken to hospital where McCrae was pronounced dead and Anglin admitted.

Dynamite seized in Spanish Town

FIVE sticks of dynamite were seized during a police operation in Spanish Town, St Catherine Tuesday.

The police said that between 8:00 am and 9:00 am, an operation was carried out in Brunswick Avenue and surrounding areas. During the operation, a black plastic bag containing the explosives and seven detonators were found behind a house. No one was arrested in connection with the seizures.
