Police warn persons in motorcades to obey law
THE Police High Command has advised persons travelling in political motorcades to be guided by the provisions of the Road Traffic Act.
Motorists are not to drive in a haphazard manner and passengers are to remain seated or standing within the confines of the vehicle, the police said in a statement.
It also warned that persons who protrude any portion of their bodies outside vehicles will be prosecuted. “The police will utilise video cameras to capture any infractions pertaining to the Road Traffic Act with a view of prosecution. The drivers of such vehicles who permit the offence(s) to be committed will also be prosecuted,” said the statement.
