Mob kills alleged goat thief, another injured
THE police in Cottage, Manchester are investigating the circumstances surrounding the killing of a man who was said to be a goat thief, and the injuring of another in Norway District in the parish on Monday.
The dead man, who is believed to be in the late 30s, is of dark complexion, medium build, about 180.34 centimetres (5 ft 11 in) tall and has a tattoo on the right forearm.
The injured man was identified as Steve Campbell of Greenmail District, also in Manchester.
The two were said to be among four men who were seen putting a goat into a Toyota Corolla motor car, registered 6553 EC, at about 4:30 Monday afternoon in Norway District.
The police said an alarm was raised and roadblocks set up in the community by residents, who intercepted the car. Two of the men were apprehended and chopped several times. The other two escaped.
The police took the two injured men to the Mandeville Hospital where the unidentified man was pronounced dead and Campbell admitted in serious condition.
