Cops seize loaded Mack ll sub-machine gun; five arrested

FIVE people, including four teenagers, were yesterday arrested and charged by the police following the seizure of a loaded Mack ll sub-machine gun (pictured here) at a premises on Maxfield Avenue in Kingston.

Gersham Carr, 24, Mark Dietrich, 17, and three boys – 13, 15 and 16 years – were charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Twenty-eight other men were also taken into custody yesterday after police and soldiers raided sections of Rosseau Road, Lincoln Avenue and Maxfield Avenue in Kinsgton.

The police said the men were wanted for shootings, robberies and other serious crimes committed in the Kingston West, St Andrew North and St Andrew South police divisions.
