Cop shot and injured

GUNMEN yesterday shot and injured a newly-appointed corporal as he responded to an emergency call on Mahoe Drive in the St Andrew South police division.

Corporal Henrick Lindsey was shot in the back of the neck, and was taken to hospital where he was admitted.

According to police reports, a group of officers went to the area in response to a call that three armed men had shot a woman in the vicinity of Mahoe Drive. The police said that when they got to the location, a group of men opened fire at them. Lindsey was hit, and the gunmen fled, the police said.
