Imani Duncan named ‘Prosperity’ campaign manager
IMANI Duncan has taken over the management of Omar Davis’ ‘Campaign for Prosperity’ team.Yesterday, Davies announced that the deputy campaign manager would now assume the role of campaign manager. No reason was given for the change in roles.
However, Imani who is the daughter of DK Duncan, the National Field Director of Davies’ ‘Campaign for Prosperity’, has been credited with infusing the campaign with a lot of its intellectual and technical guidance and energy.
The move comes weeks after Davies denied rumours of a split in his campaign, saying there was absolutely no truth to reports that DK Duncan and Beverly Anderson-Manley had resigned from his Campaign for Prosperity. “It’s not true,” said Davies.
Davies, one of four presidential hopefuls looking to replace Prime Minister PJ Patterson when the latter demits office, said he too had heard the reports and had consulted with Anderson-Manley and Duncan, both of whom assured him that they had no intention of leaving his team.
Anderson-Manley has no official title in the Campaign for Prosperity. Her role, she said, is “spokesperson … carrying the message.” Duncan, who is the national field director for the campaign, did not return calls for comments.
