THE Opposition People’s National Party (PNP) yesterday named newcomer Lisa Hanna to its 15-member shadow Cabinet, unveiled yesterday by Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller at a press conference at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston.

Hanna, a former Miss World, who was elected member of parliament for South East St Ann in the September 3 general elections, will shadow the youth and information portfolios.

The PNP also named former junior minister in the Ministry of Health (1993-95), Peter Bunting, to shadow industry and commerce, with Senator Kern Spencer as his deputy.

Bunting is the Member of parliament for Manchester Central.

Former education minister Maxine Henry-Wilson will now assume the role of spokesperson on education, science and technology, segments of which was previously held by Phillip Paulwell, who will be the opposition’s spokesperson on mining and energy.

The opposition leader will assume the role of spokesperson on sports, development and gender issues, as well as ‘faith-based issues’. She will have as her deputies Sharon Hay-Webster and Ian Hayles.

. Lisa Hanna – information and youth; and

. Dean Peart – local government and community development.

Dr Peter Phillips is the Leader of Opposition Business in the Lower House and A J Nicholson in the Upper House.
