The St James Football Association and Salt Spring Roses are to meet today to sort out the row over two players who are alleged to be playing for two teams in two different leagues.

Alvin Brown and Kevon Trail are alleged to be representing Flames in the Trelawny National Rums of Jamaica Major League while playing for Salt Spring Roses in the St James FA JNBS/Hart Senior League.

After both men were spotted playing for Salt Spring Roses in the mid-season final of the JNBS/Hart Senior League against Tomorrow’s People at Jarrett Park on Sunday, an appeal was filed with both Football Associations.

The rules governing the game prohibits any player from representing two different teams in separate competitions at the same time.

In the local game however players are allowed to represent business house teams and corner league teams.

General Secretary of the Trelawny FA Marlene Brown confirmed yesterday that Trail has been playing for both teams but they are yet to confirm if Brown has been and will need to compare the photographs on the identification cards issued by both FAs to be certain.

The Trelawny executive told the Observer West they had a player by the name of Anthony Brown playing for Flames and they were not certain if it was the same player who also plays for Salt Spring Roses.

Bruce Gaynor the General Secretary of the St James FA said they were still carrying out their investigations into the matter but hoped to conclude the matter today.

This is the second time this season that a player was discovered to be playing for teams in St James and Trelawny.

Earlier it was found out that Lincoln Hines was playing for both Champions Youth Club in the St James Senior League and Harmony in the Trelawny Major League.

Harmony was penalised by having points won from games he played in deducted but the player has since disappeared, the Observer West has learned.
