Bun bucks for ballers
MONTEGO BAY, St James
Regal Bakery, one of Montego Bay’s oldest and well-known establishments, has joined with the St James Football Association to raise funds from buns.
The initiative, which was launched on Monday at the Market Street office of Regal Bakery, will see proceeds form the sales of Easter buns being donated to the FA and its participating teams.
According to Regal Bakery executive Loxley, Vassell proceeds from every bun purchased by a football player or a fan of any club will go back into football.
The plan is that whenever the player or the fan purchases a bun up to the Easter weekend, they will indicate to the sales person and it will be registered.
General Secretary of the St James FA, Bruce Gaynor and first vice-president George Evans who were both at the launch, welcomed the initiative and encouraged all the players to support the venture which would ensure more money for their teams.
