South Florida Caribbean Dancehall Awards set for March
FT LAUDERDALE, USA — The association, Single Mothers of America/Dominion International, will stage the second annual South Florida Caribbean Dancehall Awards on Sunday, March 14, 2010 in Margate, Florida.
This, they say is in recognition of the many accomplishments of the South Florida Caribbean community. The Red Carpet segment of the event will kick off at 5:30 pm, while the awards show will begin promptly at 7:00 pm.
It will feature well-known reggae artiste/dancer/model Bruck Up, aka Mr Excitement, as well as performances by international/local guests and artistes, and of course the presentation of the actual So Flo awards. The awards show has been established to acknowledge and honour the accomplishments and contributions of artistes and supporters in the arena of Reggae and Dancehall Music. This special event also gives the Caribbean community in South Florida an opportunity to showcase the talent and culture of Florida Reggae artistes and the hard-working people behind the scenes in the music industry in South Florida and abroad.
Proceeds of the Second Annual Caribbean Dancehall Awards will be donated to a scholarship fund of $1,500 to three South Florida High School graduating seniors from single-family homes.
According to Keisha Clark, producer of the awards, “The goal of this event is to give families a chance to be self-sufficient and endure the hardships of today’s society. The proceeds from this event will also help continue to provide educational programmes in the South Florida community.
“Our goal for each child is to build an increased sense of dignity and self-esteem and in return the child will be more likely to educate his/her own children. Education will allow the child to improve the standard of living for his/her family and make a positive impact on the environment,” she explained.
Sponsors include Blair Management Group, Donna’s Jamaican Restaurant, Robust Graphics, The Buzz Connec, The Juice Report, Zaejahe Planning & Dymeko Events, Girl Talk TV and many others to be announced.
Clark added, “We are grateful and proud to be aligned with such a stellar roster of partner brands, which support many different aspects of the events surrounding the Send Annual South Florida Dancehall Awards.”
“With their generous and creative support, we look forward to making this year’s So Flo Awards Show another huge success.”
Last year’s awards show was a smashing success, with attendees and nominees from all throughout USA and Caribbean. There will also be performances by other reggae music artistes, as well as international guests, which will be announced, in upcoming press releases to follow shortly.
