Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, Olivia Grange, MP has announced a new home for the annual Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival.

Grange, who is also the Minister for Entertainment, made the announcement Tuesday night in Kingston at the launch of the festival, which will take place between January 24 and 30.

According to Minister Grange, “The new home for the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival is the Trelawny Stadium near historic Falmouth.

Trelawny Stadium has the prefect ambiance overlooking the sea, with skyboxes, and adequate space for stage, audience and parking. It is perfect for television recordings and broadcasts.

“What we are doing here is creating a great synergy of entertainment and heritage and tourism, while providing opportunities for exposure for artistes and culture.

“Our cultural artistes and entrepreneurs will have a greater opportunity to earn, because a bigger venue means a bigger festival.

Trelawny Stadium is the perfect entertainment and major events venue and Jamaica Jazz and Blues will open the calendar year of major events.”

Minister Grange thanked the promoters of the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, Turnkey Productions, for choosing Trelawny Stadium, managed by Independence Park Limited, an agency of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture.
