What a week!
What a week, what a weekend, what a life and what a new year it has been thus far.
I am still drifting on my natural high from my adventures last week. Sky Diving in Puerto Rico to a Catamaran Cruise in the Bahamas with some old college friends from Oxford. Then I finished up by lounging on the north coast for the entertainment filled 14th staging on the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival.
Being The Banker is definitely all its cracked up to be and a bit more because while others rubbed shoulders in front stage with VIPs, I sat in the delightful company of R&B divas Tamia, Kelly Price and Deborah Cox; feeling like a king among queens.
That is just one of the many ways I de-stress after a week’s ramblings on the set of Digicel Deal or No Deal.
Last week’s show had me seeing doubles, at first I thought it was the effects of the acupuncture treatment kicking in then soon after realised that madam producer decided to surprise me with not one contestant but a pair of twins Gabby and Danielle Andrade. I thought to myself “two for the price of one.” A horrible cliché but the truth nonetheless. One would have thought that with double the effort, double the brain power, I would have done double the work to maintain my prowess and keep my millions. Fortunately for me that was not the case. Two heads certainly did not prove better than one that day.
Gabby and Danielle reminded me of those optimistic little girl guides that sell cookies from doorstep to doorstep, never daunted by rejection they continue with hope. I could almost hear the Titanic like music as the duo sank round after round finally settling for their meager $13,200 winnings.
If my calculations are correct that would mean an embarrassing $6,600 split, nothing near the cost of gas to get them to the show and back home, but at least they did not go home empty pocketed.
With love in the air, my wife thought it a good idea to extend the festivities to you my beloved readers through this column. We are certainly aware that most of you out there won’t be able to do the Strawberry Hills rendezvous with the recession floating around like a bad influenza.
However, I will be delighted to provide a few, out of the norm, affordable yet surprisingly “upscale” tips and tricks to make your encounters memorable, from the best source possible… yours truly.
