ISCF members charged
Three members of the Island Special Constabulary Force (ISCF) who were charged with corruption by members of the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) were placed before the Yallahs Resident Magistrates Court earlier today.
Those charged for breaching the Corruption Prevention Act (2000) are Woman Special Constable Keisha Steele; Special Constable Owen Brown and Special Sergeant Ian Young. The Woman Special Constable was remanded in custody while the other two were offered bail in the sum of $500,000 each.
Special Constable Brown and Special Sergeant Young were asked to surrender their travel documents, a stop order was also placed on the two and they are to report once per week to a police station.
The charges laid against the three ISCF members follow investigations and a sting operation conducted by the ACB after a report was made by a vendor that the policemen and woman solicited a sum of money from the vendor after the officers seized a quantity of illegal DVDS the vendor was peddling in Morant Bay, St Thomas.
All three are set to return to court on February 18.
