COMEDY DONS Take Over BackYaad
The Backyaad venue on Constant Spring Road last Sunday night — echoed the sounds of laughter as the dons of Jamaican comedy — along with a few invited international guests, tickled the spirits of the patrons who came out to the JA/USA Connection.
The event put on by Pro-Starz Entertainment was hosted by comedian Elva Ruddock and showcased acts like Christopher ‘Johnny’ Daley, Shang (from the United States), Leighton Smith, Rohan Gunter, and ITY and Fancy Cat. There was even a surprise appearance by the Jamaican king of comedy, Owen ‘Blakka’ Ellis, who assured us that “laughter heals”.
Last Sunday night showed that there truly is a market for stand up comedy, as such, TEENage urges that you continue to support the Jamaican comedy industry because they are really hard-working comedians, who are really good.
