Keep your head above the water, PM
Dear Editor,
The seriously politically wounded Bruce Golding is once more facing mushrooming calls from various sectors of society for him to put an end to the life of his tenure as “Chief Servant”.
Indeed, as a people we are at a very fragile and tumultuous time in our nation’s history and it is with this in mind that I urge the prime minister to keep his head above water.
Our country is at a watershed moment and within this moment resides a tremendous opportunity, an opportunity for the prime minister to enshrine himself within the favourable light of history by doing the difficult but necessary things. The chief servant must lead the political charge and display the necessary courage by fleshing out the politically unpopular decisions.

Mr Golding must not only lead from the political platform but from within Parliament as well. He must push for the reform of all politically monopolised arenas, and in so doing, completely flush out anti-state forces. The Government must seek to suffocate the oxygen which gives rise to proponents of terrorism, and the foremost manner to do such is for the State to plug the vacuum it created by reclaiming and upholding its responsibilities to Jamaicans of all stations and creeds.
The garrisons must be transformed and the enslaved freed. The political directorate must decisively push through critical legislation such as the six crime bills, anti-gang legislation, etc, Mr Golding must also lead the country in a direction which puts an end to the politics which manufactures and nourishes criminality. These times demand that the PM demonstrate true leadership, nothing less will suffice.
