Pulse’s new Vogue covergirl heads to Jamaica for CFW
Vogue’s Style.com named her as one of the stars to watch at this season’s New York Fashion Week. Now, as her first Vogue hits news stands worldwide, Pulse’s fast-rising supermodel Sedene Blake heads to Jamaica for Caribbean Fashionweek, scheduled for June 15- 21.
Sedene appears on the cover of June edition of the Italian Vogue Beauty and had the good fortune of booking this, her first job as an international model, a week into her career. She is now the second Pulse model to appear on a Vogue cover and joins other Pulse models including Lois Samuels, Kimberley Mais, Angela Neil among others who have shot for the most important fashion publication in the industry.
Sedene is the essence youthful elegance as she lounges in the summer’s latest bikinis on Miami Beach. Shot by highly acclaimed photographer Greg Lotus, the six-page cover and editorial is expected to catapult Sedene to another level in her career.
Blake was introduced to the global marketplace last November and has since shot five fashion stories for four editions of Vogue, editorials for Pop, V and as also landed gigs for Calvin Klein. By the time show season came around, all the major design labels were clamouring for the services of the cinnamon toned beauty. She smashed runway records set by her Pulse agency colleague, Jaunel Mckenzie when she scored 40 shows in her debut at New York Fashion Week in February. And, she didn’t stop there. Blake went on to London, Milan & Paris and amassed over 60 shows for the Fall/ Winter show season walking for top design houses like Carolina Herrera, Tommy Hilfiger, Marc Jacobs, Jason Wu, Custo Barcelona, Peter Som, Costello Tagliapietra, Phillip Lim and Caterine Malandrino. Viviene Westwood, Roksanda Illincic, Osman, Todd Lyn, PPQ, House of Holland, Nicole Fahri, Paul Smith, Costume National, and Valentino
Sedene continues to impress the major clients since the post show season and has flown to LA and Dallas to shoot Target & Niemann Marcus respectively. And as she prepares to return to Jamaica for Caribbean Fashionweek, she will travel to London for bookings and is also holding options in New York for another editorial with Italian Vogue to be shot by Craig Mc Dean.
