Timely article
Dear Editor,
Let me congratulate Keeble McFarlane on a wonderfully written article “A deeply wounded country cries out” in the June 5 Observer. I could not agree with him more when he pointed out that our children are socialised to react almost automatically in aggression, anger, and hostility.
I do hope policymakers, parents, teachers and all who share in the care and nurture of our children would read Mr McFarlane’s article and wake up to the realisation that, sad as it may be, the violent nation we have become is a creature of our own making. This is indeed a timely and accurate article.
Keep up the good work of enlightenment and challenge that we as a nation need to turn our society around, Mr McFarlane.
