Producer Sean Reid’s One Day rhythm project has scored another chart topping single. This time it’s the Beenie Man and Future Fambo collaboration Rum and Red Bull.

Rum and Red Bull released on the Seanizzle label, is number one on BBC 1Xtra Dancehall chart.

The tune has become the first number one hit for Future Fambo in more than 15 years.

Future Fambo last hit the number one spot in 1994 on the Roof International produced hit Kung Fu.

Following the success of Kung Fu, Future Fambo — then known as Future Troubles — scored some minor hits with Wrong Hail, China Mi Live, and Drunken Dance.

Vegas heading to the Soul Train Music Awards

With a nomination for Best Reggae Artiste in the 2010 Soul Train Music Awards, Mr Vegas is grateful for the recognition. The dancehall artiste who has had multiple successes on the Billboard charts over the years says he is hopeful that the recognition from Soul Train will place international attention on Jamaican music.

In an interview recently Mr Vegas expressed pleasure at the nomination. ‘After years of hard work, I am so humbled and honoured to be recognised by the internationally renowned Soul Train Music Awards. I wish all the nominees in the reggae category the best of luck and hope that we can continue to push reggae music to the masses worldwide’.

Mr Vegas is expected to be in attendance at the awards show, which is to be taped on November 10 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia.

He is currently in the studios working on various projects for release in early 2011. His most recent smash hit I Am Blessed continues to ride the Media Guide Reggae Specialty chart, where after 87 weeks of chart life, it bolted from 21 to number five. The song has already spent multiple weeks at the top of that chart.

Dancehall artiste Serani recently completed the video for one of his latest singles Slumber Party. Additionally, he has a list of songs ready to hit the streets, which include Hussla, Drive Out and 1st anniversary.

Rapper Lil Wayne’s 7th solo album I Am Not a Human Being glides from 16 to number one on the Billboard 200 album chart. This is his second number one album.

So Nicki Minaj has dumped P Diddy as her manager, and now we are hearing that Rihanna has parted company with manager Marc Jordan.

Asian boy quartet Far East Movement has become the first male group in four years to reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100. The group’s hit Like a G6 unpacked its travelling bags to remove Bruno Mars from the top of the pile.
