Clarendon’s Sevens Deep Well to be taken out of operation today
NATIONAL Water Commission (NWC) customers who are served by the Sevens Deep Well in Clarendon could be without piped water for up to Friday, as the well will be taken out of operation today for what the commission said are “extensive mechanical repairs”.
According to the water company, the areas that will be affected include Sevens Estate, Sevens Road, Sevens Plantation, Effortville, Oliver Gardens, Warsop Farm, Zion Avenue, Leon Avenue, Donald Avenue, Atkinson Drive, Alexander Avenue, Mt Clair, Bryants Crescent, Stewart Avenue, Sewell Crescent, Windsor Avenue, Fosmore Drive and May Pen Town.
It said that it will be supplying trucked water to the communities throughout the period of disruption.
In the meantime, customers in Eltham, Ensom Acres and Eltham Vista in St Catherine will also experience a disruption in their water supply on today between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.
“This planned disruption is to facilitate pipeline connection works under the Kingston Metropolitan Area Project. Customers in these communities are also encouraged to store water for use during the period of disruption,” the NWC said in a press release.
