Also joining the act are Freddie McGregor, who is one of reggae’s most respected, and soulful singers, and reggae singer Hezron.
Betty Wright, who has internationally acclaimed hits such as Clean Up Woman, After the Pain and No Pain No Gain, has captured audiences worldwide for years with younger talents sampling from her masterpieces.
The R&B singer is looking forward to soak in the warmth Jamaican sunshine, its wonderful people. Betty is no stranger to Jamaica, “I remember it was around 1996, I performed at Woman to Woman concert in Kingston,” she recalled.
“I also did the Bob Marley tribute, which featured Queen Latifah, Busta Rhymes, most members of the Marley family, Lauryn Hill, DJ Khaled,” Betty said.
“All of the singers spun the soulful songs of Bob and remixed them in legacy style with his sons’ versions, it was beautiful.”
And it is these beautiful moments that would be spun from this legendary singer, when she takes the mic and take the audience on a memorable musical journey.
Part proceeds from the event will go to the global charity organisation, International Proxy Parents (IPP) to assist in their programmes and initiatives to alleviate the lives of less fortunate in the island.
